AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: BURNED

Audiobook Review On Burned, (Fever #7)

Rated it

Another shockingly suspenseful installment in #1 "New York Times" bestselling author Karen Marie Moning's Fever series.

"Burned" picks up right where the surprising conclusion of "Iced" left off, and will feature beloved characters Mac and Dani O'Malley as they embark on another high-octane adventure in the Fever world.

MacKayla and Barrons are back, and in for the adventure of a lifetime...again! Iced left us in the street where Mac finally caught up with Dani, ready to confront her about her sisters death. In the heat of the moment, and Dani thinking Mac is wanting to kill her, she runs right where she remembers the exact location she could enter the fae world. With Barrons and Mac hot on her heels, Dani charges forward deeper into the unknown, and royally screwing herself in the process. Will Dani find her way out, or be stuck forever?

Burned is one of those books that has you saying wtf a lot! While Mac is beside herself about Dani, Barrons continues on with business as usual. He reassures Mac several times in regards to Dani, and how they would only get just as lost as her if they tried to continue to chase after her. While Barrons is discussing business with the Seelie and Unseelie, a new threat comes into town...doubly so. In her attempt to keep a tight lid on “the book” Mac is turned invisible, and the real fun begins. I would have to say that Mac being invisible and the snooping she takes advantage of is the best part of the story, however Jada, (new threat #1) is very close behind in second. And our favorite Celtar Christian is not forgotten, and a plan formulates to rescue him from the Crimson Hag.

Looking back on the story after a weeks time, I don't find any part of the story I didn't like or enjoy. But it is rather difficult to relay what I thought and felt about the story without giving away spoilers. During Iced and now Burned I've learned more intimate details about the main characters, which puts me in a more emotionally attached position with them. The two characters I loved to hate in Iced, (Ryodan and Christian) have redeemed themselves somewhat in Burned and my perspective of them is totally different than before as their true intentions are revealed! And for Gods sake, Barrons shows vulnerability with Mac, and I just melted. Yup, Barrons, Ryodan, and Lore got under my skin in all the right ways, and I am definitely coming back for more.

Narrator Review

Phil Gigante and Natalie Ross continue another great performance! I'm not sure if it's just that I can so imagine them as the characters or cause I'm that much in love with their voices. Either way, I love them both for the way they rock this story!
